OUR GOALS
• Improve communication among students and faculty at Hatfield Marine Science Center.
• Enhance collaboration among students, as well as promote and endorse their work.
• Expand and diversify the range of educational experiences available at Hatfield Marine Science Center.
• Increase opportunities for professional development of students.
• Articulate the needs of students and advocate their views at the Science Center and University levels.
• Provide awards to assist students with travel to conferences and professional development events.

We work towards these goals:
HSO has a variety of ongoing activities for fundraising, researching and socialization, which often overlap.
> Social, fundraising, and research activities.
> Offering HMSC students information and opportunities.
> Being active members in the organization and coastal communities and in support of the goals of HMSC.
SOCIAL
HSO holds a donut hour, providing donuts and coffee to the HMSC community. As a member of HSO, you have the opportunity to volunteer with set up, bring in your own and donate to the fund.
When we get the chance, we organize wider-ranging events of all sorts. HSO members also represent the organization at a variety of other HMSC events, it. Keep your eye on the email list for details.
